What is a Milestone?

Milestones outline key events in the student journey for each program at Self-Publishing School

We understand that publishing a book can feel like a daunting task. I mean, how do we go from blank page to published author in 90 days or less? We achieve our goal by focusing on the Milestone that we're in, right now. 

Each Milestone represents a major step toward the objective of the program you're in. And, depending on the program you're in, the Milestones will look a little different.

For example, in Self-Publishing School's Become a Bestseller program (previously called VIP 2.0), there are ten Milestones:

1. Mindmap
2. Outline
3. Rough Draft
4. Second Draft
5. Self-Editing
6. Editing
7. Cover Design
8. Formatting
9. Published
10. Bestselling Author

If you're getting started on your Mindmap - congratulations! This is a major achievement toward publishing your book! And now, you have a focused objective that is more manageable than thinking of publishing a book as an entire "step."

Once you complete your Mindmap, click the "Update Your Progress" lecture at the end of the Mindmap Module. Fill in the form with your email address and select which milestone you've completed. Don't forget to click Submit!

Your next goal is to complete your Outline. And so the journey continues :)

Keep in mind that every Milestone is an opportunity to celebrate! You're making more progress toward publishing your book than you ever have before - so stay focused on the Milestone you're working on today. You can do it!
